SIA Training and Upskilling

The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is the regulatory body for the private security sector in all four countries of the UK. It draws its powers from the Private Security Industry Act 2001. The Act introduced the mandatory licensing of many people working in security occupations, including contracted Security Officers and CCTV Operators and all Door Supervisors.

Individuals applying for a front line SIA licence must prove that they are properly qualified to do their job. If they don’t hold one of the SIA-endorsed qualifications then their licence application will be refused.

Shield Associates deliver a structured training programme that results in a recognised qualification. We believe that this will result in a more competent and professional workforce. It will also improve the public image of the private security industry and make it more attractive to potential employees.

The SIA training facilities used by Shield Associates are located in London and the Home counties, but have the capacity to deliver any of the training ‘In House’ across the UK.
